ABOUT PAULOMI DEBNATH
The Artist behind the Brand
PAULOMI'S INSPIRATION
Hi, I’m Paulomi — maker, colour-lover, storyteller, and the hands and heart behind Handmade by Tinni.

I’ve always been drawn to colour, texture and joyful design — long before this brand existed. When I was fourteen, my elder sister came home with a bag bursting with wooden and ceramic beads. That simple gift changed everything. I began playing with them, knotting and threading, and soon I was making earrings that I just knew should be worn. I still remember sitting cross-legged at a local book fair in India, nervously waiting for people to notice — and watching my creations sell out in hours. That feeling of joy, freedom and possibility has never left me.

Life led me down different paths — careers, family and moves from India to London — but that creative spark never dimmed. At forty, I finally followed that dream and Handmade by Tinni was born — a celebration of colour, craft and courage.

My designs are inspired by vibrant cultures, bold colour palettes and the beautifully expressive people who wear them. I specialise in handcrafted textile jewellery using organic cotton, traditional macramé and rope-knotting techniques, blending old-world craft with contemporary style that makes you feel seen when you wear it.

While these milestones mean a great deal, the most rewarding part will always be hearing how my designs bring colour, confidence and joy into everyday lives.

PAULOMI'S VISION
My vision for Handmade by Tinni is simple: to create joyful, statement pieces that celebrate colour, individuality and self-expression.

I design bold jewellery that’s meant to be worn with confidence — pieces that feel playful, expressive and full of personality. Every design is inspired by vibrant colours, tactile textures and the beautifully bold women who wear them.

My vision also lives beyond jewellery, flowing into the home. Through knotted and knitted cotton wall art, I love adding colour, texture and character to living spaces — creating pieces that feel personal, expressive and a little unexpected.
Handmade by Tinni is a celebration of creativity and craftsmanship — made to bring joy to what you wear and how you live, every single day.
PAULOMI'S VALUES
When I began creating my statement jewellery, I knew that I had to do so sustainably. Protecting our planet is no longer an option, it’s essential. As a small business, I ensure I’m eco-conscious in every decision I make. I chose cotton as my main design medium as it is sustainable & bio-degradable, soft to wear and anti-allergic.
My zero-waste collection ensures that every offcut is used so that I’m not wasting materials.
Handmade By Tinni is also committed to sourcing materials ethically and continuing to find ways to reduce my business’s carbon footprint. One way we do this is by supporting Ecologi, a wonderful organisation dedicated to reforestation. Together with Ecologi, Handmade By Tinni enables the planting of 5 trees per month.

For our sustainable efforts, we have been Handmade by Tinni has been shortlisted as a finalist in the 'The Purpose before Profit Award’ by The Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards.
My brand is all about sustainability and joyful colour. I believe that doing business ethically is the only way to do business. I am dedicated to creating a legacy of change for a cleaner, greener planet.
Here are the four ways I am striving to be planet friendly.

-
Sustainable materials — I choose organic, biodegradable cotton that’s soft to wear and gentle on the planet.
-
Zero-waste design — every offcut gets a purpose in another piece.
-
Ethical sourcing — I continually seek ways to reduce my carbon footprint and source responsibly.
-
Planet support — partnering with organisations like Ecologi to plant trees and give back.

To me, doing business ethically isn’t a buzzword — it’s the only way to do business.
